All India Radio Shillong today bid farewell from service to another dedicated official Shri Ajoy Kumar Das Diesel Technician. Hailing from Silchar Assam, Shri Das joined the department as Diesel Engine Driver at AIR Silchar on 28th February 1983 and continued there until his promotion as Diesel Technician at AIR Murshidabad on 1st March 1992. After serving at Murshidabad for more than two and half years, he was transferred to AIR Shillong on 1st November 1994 and his love affection for AIR Shillong made him stay in the station for 25 years 2 months till he retire on superannuation on 31st December 2019.
Blessed with two children, his son Abhijit Das completed B Tech(EEE) from Calicut and then obtained MBA degree from IIM Shillong and is currently serving as Branch Manager of ICICI Silchar. The daughter Anindita Das completed her graduation in commerce from St Anthony's College Shillong and is now pursuing MBA at North East Regional Institute of Management Guwahati. The family is supported by A.K.Das wife Smti Chhabirani Das, a homemaker.
A farewell program was held at the conference room of AIR Shillong today the 31st Dec 2019 attended by members of staff, officers from engineering , program and other section in the presence of DDG(E) i/c Shri T. Hynniewta.
