Sh. M S Duhan, Deputy Director General at Doordarshan Delhi has been conferred with the "The Best Article Prize winner" under the Case Studies category for his article titled "Seminal Motives for Digital TV- Metamorphosis of ATT into DTT" by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The article appeared in their Technical Review January-March 2020 issue. This award is recognition for his academic achievements and dedicated services in the field of Digital Terrestrial TV.
The technical review prizes and engineering awards announcements was made during the Opening Session of the 57th ABU Technical Committee ONLINE meeting on Tuesday, 24 November at 2.00 pm (Kuala Lumpur time). The ABU Engineering Awards recognises outstanding contributions in broadcasting, implementing and promoting green technology in the broadcasting industry.
There is stiff competition in ABU Technical Papers award, as leading researchers and Engineers across 57 countries in Asia Pacific Region with professionals from countries like Japan, Korea, China Australia, Iran etc. competing in these categories of Awards.
He has done it again.
Sh Duhan, a native of Bhiwani, in Haryana, has won this award for the 4th time, a rare in the history of ABU and as such it is pride moment for the country and Doordarshan. Earlier Sh. Duhan had won such international awards during the year 2015,2017 and 2019.
Sh. Duhan's technical performance has been earning plaudits, and now it's getting noticed nationally and internationally too. Recently Sh. Duhan had won prestigious "Prof S N Mitra Memorial Award (2020)" conferred by Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers during their 63rd Annual IETE Convention Awards ceremony that took place on 27th Sep 2020. outstanding contribution and leadership role in radio broadcast science and technology during the last 10 (ten) years.
The award consists of a medal, cash prize and a citation. Beaming Duhan sharing his views informed that he has high passion for Digital Terrestrial TV and has won 6 National awards and 4 international awards.
This year it is double happiness for Prasar Bharati Parivar as technical work and paper titled "Indigenous News Automation Software at DDK Chennai " authored by R. ARUL,
Assistant Engineer, S. GURUMANICKAM, Assistant Director (E), and K.BALAJI,
Assistant Director (E), has won the first prize under practical implementation category.
