Akshay Indikar spouse of Smt. Tejashree Kamble, PEX, AIR Pune achieve Young Cinema Award.



From 70 countries in Asia, a filmmaker gets an award named Young Cinema Award every year, it is also known as the Asia Khanda's Academy Award. The award is awarded by UNISCO, Griffith Film School, Asia Pacific Academy. Akshay Indikar spouse of Smt. Tejashree Kamble, PEX, AIR Pune and Marathi director has been awarded the Young Cinema Award of ' Asia Pacific Screen Academy ', known as the Oscar of Asia.

The Young Cinema Jury said of the winning film "Akshay Indikar has a real and rare cinematic vision. Using breath-taking imagery and intricate soundscapes, his film took the jury on a multi-layered journey of discovery evolving through the perspective of sublime innocence. We congratulate him on this incredible achievement and look forward to what comes next."

Sthalpuran is the Sophomore feature from director Indikar, who also co-wrote, edited and did sound design on the film. The accomplished young filmmaker hails from Gondhali nomadic tribe in southwest India and is proud to make films in his own language, Marathi, to share with the world. Sthalpuran, which premiered at the Berlinale 2020.  The film is a story of young boy Dighu, who is searching for his father and while doing so he witnesses various things happening around and makes a note of it in his diary. The story is told through his diary entries, as he copes with change and loss. With the Young Cinema Award, he also became eligible for membership of Asia Pacific Screen academy, so far only 1300 people across the world have received this membership.

His movie 'Trijya' premiered at the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival. He has also captured Marathi writer Bhalchandra Nemade's life in docu-fiction named 'Udaharnarth Nemade'. Bhalchandra Nemade has won the 50th Jnanpith award.
