Broadcasting which was born in the early 20th century, like any other technology has witnessed consistent evolution. However, the rate of technological advancement has increased tremendously in the past few years. A Broadcaster, particularly a Broadcast Engineer may need a completely different kind of skill-set to perform efficiently in the changed broadcasting scenario. This requires immediate upgradation of the technical skills of existing broadcasters and imparting new skills, which may be altogether absent or might have been dormant in the existing taskforce. This poses a huge challenge in front of every broadcaster of the day and more so on classical Public Service Broadcasters where the average age of the operational manpower is above 50 years. ...............
