27 April 2017: Action from Hockey India 7th National Championships 2017 continued today at various venues.
In Bengaluru, Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) ‘B’ Division begun with Pool B match where Namdhari XI beat Hockey Puducherry 15-0. Hanspal Singh stole the show, scoring seven incredible goals (4’, 22’, 29’, 35’, 44’, 45’, 59’) in their victory.
Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy beat The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd 5-1 in Pool B’s second encounter. The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd opened the scoring in the 4th minute via Md. Tousif Qureshi. Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy rode on a brace each by, Nikhil Jamboktkar (33’, 52’) and Sahil Katiyar (46’, 51’) to take the victory.
Hockey Madhya Bharat beat Goans Hockey 5-2 in the next Pool B match up. Goals for Hockey Madhya Bharat were scored by, Mohit Tatawat (6’), Abhishek Yadav (9’, 68’), Irbaz Khan (65’) and Mudassar Qureshi (69’). Goans Hockey’s Sahil Chari scored a brace (32’, 63’).
Bengal Hockey Association and Citizen Hockey drew 1-1 in Pool C. Lorik Pal opened the scoring for Bengal Hockey Asociation in the 15th minute. Zainul Samar scored the equaliser for Citizen Hockey in the 58th minute.
In Bhopal, it was quarter final day at Hockey India 7th Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) ‘A’ Division.
In the first quarter final, Hockey Odisha trumped Hockey Maharashtra 7-3 in a free scoring and highly entertaining game. Amit Chirmako (7, 37’, 67’) and Sudhir Kujur (17’, 50’ 56', 70’) both scored hat-tricks for Hockey Odisha to take them to a well deserved victory and a place in the semi final.
In the day’s second quarter final, Hockey Punjab beat Hockey Haryana 2-1 to book their place in the final four. Goals for Hockey Punjab were scored by, Dilpreet Singh (30’) and Kawaljit Singh (42’). Vishal Antil pulled a goal back for Hockey Haryana in the 68th minute via a PC conversion, but in the end it wasn’t enough, as Hockey Punjab took the victory.
In Bhopal, Hockey India 7th Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Women) ‘B’ Division, opened its first day today at the Aishbagh Stadium.
In the tournament opener, Hockey Andhra Pradesh beat Bengal Hockey Association 9-2 in Pool A. The star of the show was Jyothi Pilligoila, who scored seven goals (4’, 9’, 16’, 31’, 51’, 55’, 63’) in their victory. 
Assam Hockey beat Hockey Bihar 2-0 in Pool C. Assam Hockey opened the scoring with Boby Karmakar in the 20th minute, and held on to that lead for most of the game. In the final minute of regulation time, Milka Surin put away a second goal to guarantee the victory and three points.
Hockey Mizoram beat Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 10-0 in Pool B. Lalrindiki was the star of the game scoring five goals (10’, 21’, 25’, 53’, 67’) in Hockey Mizoram’s thumping victory.
Hockey Madhya Bharat and Hockey Bengaluru played out a  3-3 draw in their Pool D encounter. Hockey Bengaluru’s S Yuktha opened the scoring, with two quick goals (6’, 22’) that looked to have opened up a gap. Hockey Madhya Bharat’s two quick fire goals,by Kajal Malviya (31’, 35’) meant the scores were level at half time. In the second half, Nandini Sikarwar’s 45th minute PC conversion was cancelled out by Hockey Bengaluru’s BY Ganavi in the 68th minute, as the two teams split the points.
Hockey Puducherry beat Vidarbha Hockey Association 1-0 in Pool A. The lone goal of the toughly fought contest was scored by S Subasri in the 48th minute.
