Maharashtra qualify for final round & WIFA Baby league

Ranjeet nets 2 as Maharashtra win and qualify for final round
Mumbai, January 16:  Striker Ranjeet Singh came up with another impressive showing by scoring both the goals which helped Maharashtra overcome Madhya Pradesh 2-0 in a Group-B qualifying round league match of the AIFF 72ndNational Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy to be held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday.
This was the third straight win for Maharashtra who finished on top in the group and qualified for the final round of the National championship.
Maharashtra, who had defeated Daman & Diu 7-0 in the opening group match and scored a 5-0 win against Lakshadweep in the second, maintained their momentum and struck both the goals through the fine efforts of Ranjeet Singh in the first session to come out trumps.
Results: Maharashtra 2 (Ranjit Singh Pandhare) beat Madhya Pradesh 0.
WIFA Baby League set to start from Sunday
Mumbai: The WIFA - Mumbai City Development Centre Baby League will kick off fromSunday, January 14, 2018. This Baby League which is a pilot project of WIFA will be conducted at multiple venues in Mumbai and Pune.
A total of 24 Development Centres across Mumbai and Pune, divided into 5 Zones, will be participating in the league in the Under 8, Under-10 and Under-12 age group category.
The Baby League is an initiative by the AIFF & WIFA along with Mumbai City FC to introduce competitive Football at an early age.
