Santosh Bakshi, who penned Siyahi Ki Kuch Uljhi Silvatein, is overwhelmed by the response to his book. Siyahi Ki Kuch Uljhi Silvatein, which is a collection of 25 love poems and odes, has sold thousands of copies and even earned a legion of fans online.
The response has been so impressive that this first-time author and the publications house now have turned some of his favourite poems from the book into videos to offer a unique audio visual experience for poetry lovers. The poems are rendered in his voice and enacted in pictures beautifully by Karanuday Jenjani and Ritoo.
These poems, which are close to the author’s heart, depict in words, the waves of togetherness and also the distance between sky and sea that love brings for two souls in love. The emotions which the writer penned down are simple yet deep and soulful in words. Karanuday the actor and model when approached not only agreed to produce the audio visual but also became the part of the videos along with his talented wife Ritoo.
Santosh Bakhshi believes he has felt each emotion and only then could he render it even though he is not from the backdrop. Talking about the video, the talented author says, “We have turned five poems into videos. These poems are very special to me as they convey journey of love in phases. Love is a universal language and it has many forms. Mostly importantly, love has a healing experience on people. Through these poems and videos, we wanted to express what many in love feel and experience.
“Be it AGhaz Ishq ka, which expresses that tingling feeling of experiencing the warmth of love for the very first time, or Main Rootha Raha--which expresses how ego can become a constant reason in diluting even the strongest standing of love. I am sure that people who are in love will relate to it. If they’re feeling down or missing loved ones, take it out and read a couple poems or watch the renditions. It will make them feel good.”
Talking about the inspiration behind the book, he says, "I have loved and loved deeply. I can never fall out of that love. I have lost it somewhere and I am searching for it to win it back, and the words in Siyahi ki kuch Uljhi Silvatein are emotions I have lived to the fullest. Be it the giddy lightheaded feeling of seeing her every morning...or the anguish and pain of not having seen her for many days... each emotion, each poem, I am sure will connect with people who have loved and lost.”
As for what’s next, there is another book for him in the near future. He adds, "I do not know if I will write poetry again but yes there are talks with publications and i can only be thankful to people who have liked and purchased the book.”
About the Book
Siyahi Ki Kuch Uljhi Silvatein is a select collection of experiences and emotions, which the author faced during various phases in his life, but never could convey. That void of vocal expressions gave words to his pen. This is his outburst, or rather inburst, which he feels he is ready to share.
