काही कलाकार आपल्या अभिनय कौशल्याच्या बळावर प्रादेशिक चित्रपटसृष्टीपासून थेट बॉलीवूडपर्यंत आपला दबदबा निर्माण करतात, पण त्यांना मातृभाषेतील चित्रपटात काम करण्याची संधी कधीच मिळत नाही. अभिनेत्री वर्षा उसगांवकरांच्या बाबतही असंच काहीसं घडलंय. मातृभाषा कोंकणी असूनही वर्षा उसगांवकर आजवर कधीही कोंकणी चित्रपटात दिसल्या नव्हत्या. प्रथमच त्या ‘जांवय नं. १’ या कोंकणी चित्रपटात मध्यवर्ती भूमिकेत दिसणार आहेत. ‘जांवय नं. १’ चा मराठी अर्थ ‘जावई नं १’ असा आहे.
वर्षा उसगांवकर यांनी आजवर मराठी, हिंदी तसंच राजस्थानी चित्रपटातही अभिनय केला आहे. मूळच्या गोव्याच्या असणाऱ्या वर्षा उसगांवकर यांना कोंकणी चित्रपटात आणण्याची किमया कोंकणी मराठी लेखक-दिग्दर्शक हॅरी फर्नांडीस यांनी साधली आहे. वर्षा यांनी प्रवाहासोबत वाटचाल करीत जुन्या-नव्या कलाकार-दिग्दर्शकांसोबतही यशस्वीपणे काम केलं आहे. याच कारणामुळे आजही त्या कोणतीही भूमिका सक्षमपणे साकारू शकतात. ९० च्या दशकात मराठी प्रेक्षकांच्या मनावर गारुड करणाऱ्या वर्षा उत्तम नृत्यांगना असून भूमिकेच्या मागणीनुसार नेहमीच त्यांनी नृत्यकला प्रेक्षकांसमोर सादर केली आहे.
सांगाती क्रिएशनची प्रस्तुती असलेल्या ‘जांवय नं. १’ या चित्रपटातल्या आपल्या या भूमिकेविषयी बोलताना त्या सांगतात की, “माझी मातृभाषा असलेल्या ‘जांवय नं. १’ या चित्रपटात दिग्गज गोवन कलाकारांसोबत काम करताना मला खूप मजा आली. पैसा वसूल धमाल कॉमेडी असणारा ‘जांवय नं. १’ हा चित्रपट प्रेक्षकांचे पुरेपूर मनोरंजन करेल.” असा विश्वास ही त्यांनी व्यक्त केला. या चित्रपटाच्या दिग्दर्शनासोबतच कथा-पटकथा-संवादलेखनही हॅरी फर्नांडीस यांनी केलं आहे. नुकताच या चित्रपटाचा संगीत प्रकाशन सोहळा मुंबई आणि दुबई येथे मोठ्या थाटामाटात करण्यात आला. लवकरच गोव्यातही संगीत प्रकाशन होईल. चित्रपटातील गाणी कोंकणी संगीत रसिकांवर मोहिनी घालण्यात यशस्वी ठरत आहेत.१३ एप्रिल ला ‘जांवय नं. १’ मँगलोर, उडपी, कारवार तसंच कर्नाटकच्या इतर शहरांमध्ये महत्त्वाच्या चित्रपटगृहांमध्ये प्रदर्शित होतो आहे.
सिरील कॅस्टेलिनो, लिओ फर्नांडीस, वॅाल्टर डिसोझा निर्मित ‘जांवय नं. १’ या चित्रपटात सासू आणि जावई यांची अनोखी जुगलबंदी पाहायला मिळणार आहे. या चित्रपटातील भूमिकेसाठी वर्षा उसगांवकर यांचा लुकही बदलण्यात आला आहे. या चित्रपटात वर्षा उसगांवकर यांच्यासोबत जोशिता रोड्रीक्स (मिस साऊथ एशिया टीन), रंजीथा ल्युईस हे मेंगलोरीयन कलाकार, दुबई स्थित अभिनेता दिपक पलाडका तसेच थिएटर आर्टिस्ट प्रिन्स जेकब, केविन डिमेलो या गोवन कलाकारांच्या भूमिका आहेत. केविन डिमेलो हे या चित्रपटात जावयाच्या भूमिकेत दिसतील. शौफिक शेख यांनी या चित्रपटाचं छायांकन केलं असून अभिषेक म्हसकर यांनी संकलन केलं आहे.
Artistes, on the sheer strength of their talent, create an impressive and successful impact, be it Regional films or when they graduate to Bollywood. But unfortunately they don’t get an opportunity to act in a film of their own mother tongue. Acting in Marathi and Hindi films, Varsha Usgaonker too faced this strange dilemma. Varsha Usgaonker’s mother tongue is Konkani yet she never got an opportunity to feature in a Konkani film. Now, for the first time she will be seen in a Konkani film, titled “Zanvoy No. 1”, in a Pivotal role. “Zanvoy No. 1” in Hindi means ‘Jamai No1’.
Varsha Usgaonker, along with Marathi and Hindi films, has also acted in several language films including Bengali, Rajasthani , Telgu, Bhojpuri to name a few . Being originally from Goa, Varsha Usgaonker is brought to Konkani films by Konkani/Marathi writer–director Harry Fernandes.Over the years, Varsha has successfully worked with young and old artistes and directors. Because of this, she is able to enact any role with finesse. Casting a magical spell on her fans in the 90’s, Varsha, being an excellent dancer, has always displayed her dancing skills as and when required in the roles she has played on-screen. In this Sangaati Creations’ presentation “Zanvoy No. 1” once again movie-goers will get to see a new aspect of Varsha’s performance. Talking about her role, She says “Zanvoy No. 1, especially because it is a film in my mother tongue, I enjoyed doing it thoroughly, and also working with veteran Konkani artistes.” She is confident that the fun-filled comedy “Zanvoy No. 1”, would definitely entertain the audience and give them a good reason to laugh, enjoy and have good fun.
Cyril Castelino, Leo Fernandes and Walter D’Souza have produced “Zanvoy No. 1”. Apart from directing this film, Harry Fernandes has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues. Recently, the Audio Release of Zanvoy No. 1” was organised with great fanfare in Mumbai and Dubai. Very soon there will be a grand audio release in Goa too. the songs are also being liked by Konkani music lovers. “Zanvoy No. 1” is set for a grand Release in Manglore,Udipi,Karwar & other cities of Karnataka on 13th April 18. It will be followed by Goa, Mumbai, Dubai, Uk , Israel and other Countries.
In this film we get to see a unique pairing of a mother-in-law and a son-in-law. For this movie Varsha has also changed her look. Along with Varsha Usgaonker we have Mangalorean artistes Joshitha Rodrigues (Miss South Asia Teen) and Ranjitha Louise, Dubai based actor Deepak Paladka and Goan theatre artistes Prince Jacob and Kevin D’mello. Kevin D’mello will be seen in the role of the son-in-law. Shaufique Sheikh is the cinematographer and Abhishek Maskar, the editor.
All-in-all, “Zanvoy No. 1” is a fun-film to look out for.
