Carl Booth, Gurdarshan Mangat, Mohammad Farhad and Hardeep Rai dominate the cage at Asia's largest Mixed Martial Arts event: Brave 5

Mumbai, April 24, 2017: Asia's largest Mixed Martial Arts event organized by
Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation witnessed MMA sensations Carl Booth,
Gurdarshan Mangat, Mohammad Farhad and Hardeep Rai emerging victorious.
Gurdarshan scored a victory through unanimous decision against his long-time
rival and veteran Abdul Muneer. Mangat's wrestling-based game-plan kept
Muneer at bay. Gurdarshan Mangat now improves to 10 wins with only one
defeat in his professional career. The athletes who had a brawl during their
stare down at the public weigh-ins, showed true sportsmanship and respect
for one another. Gurdarshan spoke about how the bout was a huge step forward
in Indian Mixed Martial Arts and applauded his opponent Muneer.
The day-long event featured ten bouts featuring athletes from 11 nations.
The event was sanctioned by All India Mixed Martial Arts Federation. India's
Mohammad Farhad who represents Team Relentless scored his 11th technical
knockout victory in dominating fashion over Irfaan Khan. Hardeep Rai forced
his opponent to submit in style in the opening match of the fight night.
Former TUF Latin America fighter Alejandro Martinez had an impressive win
over Brazil's Paulo "Bananada" and Mohammad Farhad, responsible for the
greatest knockout of the night over Irfan Khan.
England's Carl Booth scored his second victory inside the Brave cage against
Tahar "Fast Hands" Hadbi. According to Booth, his win was enough to deserve
a title shot next. Although Hadbi started off with a bang, trying to corner
Booth, the Englishman slowly started to find his rhythm and stung his
opponent repeatedly with leg kicks. Booth's victory means he improves to 8-1
in his MMA career. However, the fight is still under review by the athletic
commission.
Commenting on the event, Mohammad Shahid, President of Brave Combat
Federation said, "We are delighted by the reception received for our first
event in India. Brave Combat Federation made history by being the first MMA
promotion to have a live broadcast of our fight night across 53 nations. We
have always believed India, athletes in mixed martial arts have tremendous
talent and this was displayed during the action-packed fights. We look
forward to growing the sport in the country and organizing more events that
provide a global platform to Indian athletes."
Established on 23 September 2016 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh
Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Brave Combat Federation has hosted shows in
Bahrain, Brazil and Abu Dhabi previously. Brave's next edition will be held
