Union Minister of Human Resource Development Shri Prakash Javadekar was the Chief Guest today in Mumbai, at Graduation Ceremony of students of Tata Memorial Centre, a comprehensive Cancer Centre with the mission of Service, Education and Research. Speaking at the function, he said that such institutions bring the real prosperity to the Nation. He further said that it is the dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to start twenty World Class Institutes, ten in public sector and 10 in private sector, with the status of National Institute of Eminence.
We must trust our best brains, academics and teaching faculties and give them full autonomy which will raise the quality standards and will be multi disciplined. Initially when people were diagnosed with Cancer there was a rigid fear of death but it is the credit of TMC that the fear of cancer as an incurable disease has soften. Patients now come to TMC with a belief and faith of being cured, the Minister said

Dr Kailash Sharma Director Academics announced the approval of new courses by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi for the very first time in the country. The courses include
1. M. Ch Head and neck Oncology
2. M. Ch Gynecological Oncology
3. DM Pediatric Oncology
4. DM Critical Care Medicine
5. MD Palliative Medicine
6. DM Interventional Radiology
Students were conferred Certificate by Shri Javadekar in the presence of Dr. Rajendra Badwe, Dr Kailash Sharma, Director, Academics and Dr P .T. Gupta and other dignitaries.
