26 year old Siddhanth Thingalaya is a tremendous athlete known for winning a gold medal by breaking his own record in the men’s 110 m hurdles at the Nationals Interstate Championships. He wishes to represent India at the 2020 Olympics in Japan and has requested the Athletics Federation of India to help him with the required funds. Since there are currently no coaches available for hurdles events, Siddhanth’s parents are funding him at the moment.
Siddhanth has no sponsorship from any commercial organization, while the Sports Authority has not yet included his name for the TOPS scheme to avail of the monthly Rs 50,000 sponsorship. The hard-working and dedicated athlete needs to compete internationally against the best in the world, as competing in India does not give him the pre-requisite exposure. He plans to participate in multiple international events like Commonwealth Games in Australia, the Asian Track & Field event in Indonesia and many other world tournaments which will ensure that he gets used to the gold class standard of the Olympics in time for the mega event in 2020. Siddhant’s parents (PSU bank employees) have gone all out to realize his dream by pouring all their savings and pensions so that their son gets a chance to make India proud on the biggest stage of them all at the in Japan.
In a bid to make his dream come true of representing India at the 2020 Olympics, Siddhanth has started a crowdfunding campaign on ImpactGuru.com, a crowdfunding platform.
