Zee Classic celebrates the eternal love story - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

The legendary producer- director, Nasir Hussain has given Indian audiences hit after hit. The man known to be the founder of the Indian fomula (masala) film did not just set a trend but paved a path for commercial Indian cinema as it stands today. With movies like Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Teesir Manzil, Hum Kisise Kum Nahin and his magnum opus Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, this visionary producer - director used the formula of great music, high impact drama and star power to catapult his movies to become major box-office successes and winning him the title of ‘Musical Entertainer’.
Celebrating his legendary journey in the industry, Zee Classic, with its proposition Woh Zamana Kare Deewana, has curated over a month-long series of Nasir Hussain’s greatest hits under the banner ‘Nasir Hussain Film Festival’ and presents the cult classic – Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, thisSunday, 4th February at 12 noon.
No tribute to Nasir Hussain would be complete without featuring this 1988 release. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, was the cult classic that propelled the lead pair - Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla to superstardom overnight. Each song from the movie be it Papa Kehte Hai, Ae Mere Humsafar, Akele Hai to Kya Ghum Hai or Gazab Ka Hai Din resonate deeply and became 80’s iconic hits that have been references in movies even today. His musical genius was such that the iconic Papa Kehte Hai has featured in more than three movies besides the original including Hum Saath Saath Hai, Andaz Apna Apna and Student of the Year.
This 80’s take on Romeo & Juliet is set against the backdrop of rural India and tells the story of two bitter rivals Dhanraj Singh and Randhir Singh. Disaster strikes when their children, Raj (Aamir Khan) and Rashmi (Juhi Chawla) fall deeply in love.  Despite their respective families’ rivalry, the couple defy all odd and overcome many difficulties to be together. In the face of unrelenting opposition to their love, the young couple elopes. But their fathers blinded by their rage and hatred of one another, try every trick in the book to keep them apart.
With a stellar cast ensemble featuring veterans like Alok Nath, Dalip Tahil, Beena Banerjee, Ahmed Khan and Arjun, this movie will definitely make you nostalgic for simpler times.
