WRD Special : 84 year old dedicated listener of AIR Shri Arvind Sule - The introduction of Television (TV) has not in any way affected the popularity of the radio programmes. They are likely to remain ever popular I believe !

We all are greatly amazed to know what a great artist must be Lord Bramha who created this universe. The Earth is a miraculous planet with beautiful things on it. Planets have to borrow light form the sun. because they do not have the light illuminating faculty of their own (i.e. self one ) and the stars have the self-illuminating faculty and hence they twinkle when we watch them from such a long distance at night. This astonishing hazard is a matter of joy for the people on the earth. The occasion of the universe by Lord Brahma with such wonders on it has given on instinct of promotion to think and invent many things. For this purpose the human beings also started using their faculty for the good, and this resulted into many discoveries. Necessity is the mother of inventions, so for entertainment purpose, musical instruments, thins of playing games and thins of many other activites were also prepared. The invention of the "Radio" by scientist Mercury is also the out-come of that magical activity of the human race. The records in this direction made the these things. I am going to put my view of say through this article and express myself on the role of Prasar Bharati in promoting the programmes presented on the Radio (Akashvani). The media is trying to do their best to please, entertain and educate the listeners through this activity of entertainment. The Prasar Bharati unit team who contribute towards the assignment. They have been so successfully and efficiently handling deserve kudos. Hats off to their skill and beautiful art of presenting the programmes so nicely for the listeners. The Chief Executive Officer alias the commanding captain of the unit team deserves all the praise for still maintaining the popularity of the radio programmes. Which reach the remote corners of the country. And that I why the Hon. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji chose radio to relay his own programme – Man Ki baat on the radio itself. Radio on programmes are heard by the common citizens of the country and outside the country also. Your work activity also does not suffer because both the activities can be undertaken simultaneously. The Prime principle of educating the common citizen of the country, so easily is also served for the good. I am also ardent listener of the radio since 1940/1942. In those days a radio was a status quo possession of feature for the owner of the radio set. Programmes were of a high standard from cultural, educational and information point of view too. I will remember that we used to walk down.2/3 miles to hear the good programmes of our choice and liking. Even in our school, good programmes were played on the loud speaker for the students to hear and get valuable information. And detail data of various items of knowledge for the good of taste of good music and instrument playing was also being developed due to hearing the programmes of variety mature and kind. Good programmes were awarded with rewards and cash prizes. This helped healthy spirit of encouragement even.

The role of Prasar Bharati has been very much significant in promoting the true spirit of the motion of our Indian cultural heritage and is also equally instrumental in maintaining the high level of standard in relaying the programmes to suit the taste of a cultured-listeners. The introduction of Television (TV) has not in any way affected the popularity of the radio programmes. They are likely to remain ever popular I believe !

Before I conclude my say I would like to make mention of that may article on the world radio day which is celebrated on the 13th February of the year was written by me because of the suggestion of both Hon.
