Shri R. Ramesh, Instrumentalist (Mridangam) joined at AIR Chennai on 28.12.1988 and will be retiring on 30" June 2019, on superannuation. Since the age of 13 years, Shri Ramesh has been performing in various concerts not only in India but abroad also. He has had the privilege of accompanying several renowned Hindustani and Karnatic musicians like Dr. N. Ramani, Pandit V.G. Jog and Ustad Zakir Hussain for a Jugalbandhi Concert. Shri Ramesh is a recipient of several accolades and awards like Laya Vadhya Chathura, Naadhakanal, Dasa Kala Rathna, Gandharva Kala Rathna, to name a few.
The staff of AIR Chennai and Prasar Bharati Parivar wish Shri R. Ramesh a very happy, peaceful and a healthy retired life.
