AIR Pune is transmitting two channel. Primary channel AM (PUNE 'A') and FM VBS. Primary channel transmitter is 100 kW DRM Transmitter located in Hadpsar 13 KM away from Control room. 10 kW FM is situated on Sinhgad Fort 35 KM away from control room. The content from Pune which is being broadcast on state level network, like regional news, goes to Mumbai for uplink via leased lines from control Room complex only and hence Even though both transmitter units have emergency studio, which are regularly tested, they have been kept as third stand by.
Considering the current crisis standby studio is installed in Auditorium which is located in separate building. This building is isolated from main building where control room and other studios including playback studios are located. Unfortunately if existing control room building gets Corona virus affected then transmission of both channel will be carried out from this standby studio. Shri.
