Sri Prasad Balakrishnan is retiring on superannuation from AIR Thrissur on 30th April 2020 after his 28 years service at AIR. He joined as Transmission executive at AIR Trichy (Thiruchirappally) on 14th Oct 1992. Transferred to AIR Thrissur in 2011. Promoted as Programme Executive in 2013. Served as Head of Programmes at AIR Kavarathi (Lakshadeep) from Sept 2015 to June 2018.Then transferred to AIR Thrissur and worked as PEX(Music) and PEX(Commercial). A well appreciated programme "Vanga Pesalaam Paatalaam",(a Tamil film song based phone out prog) is directed by sri Prasad Balakrishnan.
He is a post graduate in English Literature from Kerala University and Master of Journalism and Mass communication from Madurai Kamaraj University. Before joining in AIR ,he was in Tamilnadu state Govt Service from 1088 to 1992.
His message to staff and members of PB Parivar:-"Govt service is an opportunity bestowed upon us to serve the nation indirectly.Do justice to your work.Hard work always pays.Consider all set backs as stepping stones.Enjoy your work.Every good thing follows.My best wishes to all !"
