27th October, 2017 in Mumbai- The launch of "Shrimati Silk Mark" a beauty pageant for married women only in Mumbai saw the presence of K. S Gopal, Dr. Aneel Kashi Murarka, V. Ramesh Sr.Executive of Silkmark event,  Govind Achari, Bharti Kadam, Bhuvaneshwari, Mahesh Chauhan, Utsav Dholakia, Disha Muchhala, Manish Reshamwala, Hetashree & John, C Singh, Shraddha Vora, Harshil Nuwal & Shikha Nuwal, Neha Banerjee, Shweta Khanduri, Smita Gondkar, Priyanka Khurana .
K. S Gopal, CEO Silkmark Organization India said"I personally feel very proud that we have got over 3000 outlets in the country promoting pure silk, India Silk. Now the question arise how to promote India Silk and Silk Mark, If you & I or we buy a silk saree we always look at the price value,  the reason silk saree being so expensive is because the Silk cloth made by a silk worm has put in a lot of hard work & efforts and procedure is time consuming. I had heard this very interesting statement somewhere "Strength of Family is women, Strength of Society is women , Strength of Country  is women  and at the end Strength of  the world is women . When I see the designers most of them being female designers I feel very proud promoting Nari Shakti & Women Power. Looking forward for a wonderful response for our upcoming Grand Finale show happening on 14th December

About Silk
India has a rich heritage in silk weaving, dyeing, printing, embroidery, and craftsmanship supported by a strong domestic market. India is the largest consumer of silk and the second largest producer of silk in the world. Not able to meet the domestic demand by the country’s own silk production of 28,523 metric tons ( Figure 2015-16), India imports silk from China . With the declining Chinese production, India is poised for a quantum jump in silk production and is set to become a key player in the international market. All these are possible only when we protect and uphold the purity and sanctity of silk from the onslaught from unethical trade practices  and hence it is advised to insist on Silk Mark label while buying Silk.
