For the die-hard romantic, if there is someone who personifies romance and the considered the epitome of all-things love, it is undoubtedly Shah Rukh Khan. His mischievous eyes and dimpled grin have captured the hearts of female audiences across the globe. A career which started with Deewana and continues to soar even today, Shah Rukh Khan has earned the title of ‘Badshah of Bollywood’. And, come 2nd November 2017, the superstar is all set to usher in his 52nd birthday. Celebrating his birthday, along with the world, Zee Classic, with its proposition Woh Zamana Kare Deewana, has curated a special line-up of some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most entertaining films which will air as an all-day movie marathon called the King Khan Festival.
Kicking off this superstar’s birthday celebrations, the first movie for the day will be Shah Rukh Khan’s 1997 romantic comedy, Yes Boss. Paired opposite one of his closest friends Juhi Chawla, this film highlighted their crackling on-screen chemistry and entertained viewers with foot tapping numbers like ‘Main Koi Aisa Geet’ and ‘Chaand Taare’.
Next up will be Shah Rukh Khan’s 1993 crime thriller Baazigar, his first movie as an anti-hero film which also won him a Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Starring Kajol and Shilpa Shetty, this film has become an iconic film which defined Shah Rukh Khan’s career.
Coming up next will be 1999 action-comedy Baadshah, a name that has stuck with Shah Rukh Khan ever since. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the film sees Shah Rukh Khan as a private detective paired opposite Twinkle Khanna.
The birthday special movie marathon will culminate with two of Shah Rukh Khan’s widely acclaimed hits from the 90s – Dil Aashna Hai directed by Hema Malini opposite Divya Bharti and Zamaana Deewana directed by Ramesh Sippy where he was paired with Raveena Tandon.
