Akashvani Sangeetha Sammelana 2018 at Bengaluru

 All India Radio has played a stellar role in nurturing India's heritage and fortifying its diversified culture.  Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan is  hailed as one of the oldest and most prestigious music festivals in India. Statrted way back in the year 1954, Akashvani Sangeet Sammelana has evolved as a strong brand  name for All India Radio in the mind space of connoisseurs for over six decades.  It is an annual event organised all over the Country featuring both eminent artists and upcoming youngsters from the streams of Hindustani and Carnatic classicle music. The Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan has grown along with the times and established itself as a phenomenon in the arena of Indian Music.  
All India Radio, besides its regular music  broadcast of various forms on its Stations spread all over the country, has endeared itself to its classicle listeners with the broadcast of prestigious programmes which include the National programme of Music broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays in the National Hook up, a month long music festival- the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan concerts.  Artistes of eminence as well as promising ones are features in these concerts. 
This year 24 different venues across India have been chosen to host these concedrts on 6th October, 2018, including Bangalore.  The function as organised at Ravindra Kalakshetra.  Artists are warmed welcome by Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyaya, ADG, SR -I&II and A. Hanumanthu, DDG(E)
A prodigious Chitraveena artist Vishal R. Sapuram is a disciple of the renowned Chitraveena Maestro Vidwan N. Ravikiran.  Initially trained  in vocal, he is one amongest a rare few of his generation to take up Chitraveena.  He has also developed a system for notating Carnatic music on the computer which has been used for writing several music books.  The first concerts was Chitraveena recital by  Vishal R Sapuram.  Accompanied by Violin Shradda Ravindran, Mridangam by Sai Shiv Lakshmi Keshav and Ghatam by H. Shivaranmakrishnan. He started with  Shanmukhapriya Raga, Rupak Tala, Muttu swami Dikshita Lyrics and ends with Yaman Kalyan raga tillana.  The programme will be broadcast on 12.12.2018 at 10pm.  
Second concert was Laya Vinyasam by Tavil Vidwan Haridwaramangalam A.K. Palanivel and Ghatam by Vidwan V. Suresh. Vidwan Haridwaramangalam A.K. Palanivel was a renowned Thavil artiste and he was awarded "Padma Shri and the Central Sangeet Natak Academy award.  Vidwan V. Suresh is an internationally acclaimed Ghatam and multi percussion artist.  He has also trained many of his next generation ghatam players and received several titles and honours for his performances. Supported by Nadaswarm by Tirukkalar Durai Bharatidasam. Laya Vinsyasam started with Ganapathi stuti.   It will be broadcast on 1.12.2018 at 10.30pm. 
Last concert was Hindustani Classical Music-vocal by Vidhushi Manjusha Kulkarni Patil, she was holder of Master's degree in Music with a gold medal.  Vidhushi Manjusha Kulkarni Patil is a recipient of various prestigious awards, including the Sangeeth Natak Academy award and has performed extensively, both at home and abroad.  She is accompanied by Tabla-Mayank Bedekar and Harmonium Ram Hasabnis and the same will be broadcast on 13.11.2018 at 10.30pm.
The whole programe was compared by B. K. Sumathi. In the mean time topgraded musics sale counters are opened at the Ravindra Kalakshetra.   Thousands of music lovers are enjoyed the programme.
