On 12 November every year, All India Radio - Akashvani declares two coveted awards for the best programmes in two categories – Public Service Broadcasting and GandhianPhilosophy. November 12 is observed by Prasar Bharati as Public Service Broadcasting Day to commemorate Gandhiji's only visit to Broadcasting House, New Delhi on this day in 1947 to address refugees gathered in Kurukshetra, following the Partition.
The Central English Features Unit (CEFU) is proud to share that it swept BOTH the awards for the year 2018. AIR has launched this competition since 2001, to honour radio productions that tell inspiring and unheard stories woven around the above mentioned themes.
