Celebrations of 43rd anniversary of AIR Mangalore.




ADG E SZ Sri Thiyagarajan IBES participated in the celebrations of 43rd anniversary of AIR Mangalore. He addressed the listeners "on air" in the special live program conducted which was started with talks of eminent scholars , followed by classical music, folk music and yakshagana songs The live program went on air for 150 minutes continuously from different studios. 

Following is the text of the speech of the ADG E SZ which went on air and in the web 

"Good morning Mangalore

ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ಕೇಳುಗರಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ..
I'm so lucky to be here in Mangalore which people fondly call as KUDLA or KODIYAL. I'm with two great scholars in AIR Mangaluru studio which makes this studio luckier forms, grateful to you Sir for guiding me and being a source of inspiration all these years. Like thriveni sangamam in North and few other places, here there's a confluence of three languages namely, TULU, KONKANI and KANNADA, AIR is broadcasting programs on these languages and other languages too. I'm happy to be here in Mangalore when the station completes 43 years of public service and marching to 44 th year, in number theory 44 is a happy number, I'm sure that AIR Mangalore will being more happiness into everyone's life with its programs. It has played a pivotal role in everyone's life by importing informal education to all of us. In those days when other medium did not exist, radio was the best companion, it's such a powerful medium that it continues it's position in today's technology ridden world. In the last 43 years it has been serving the listeners of Mangalore and adjoining areas with its rich educative programs and wholesome entertainment. As a public service broadcaster AIR Mangalore has brought immense value to the society. It has nurtured the rich cultural heritage, promoted beautiful art forms like music, art and folk songs, yakshagana , sports and agricultural programs. The Yuvavani, Keishiranga, Chinthana, Radio doctor etc are applauded by listeners. 
Many eminent scholars, musicians, artists have brought laurels to the station. Akashvani too has promoted such talented personalities from various walks of life. This station has a very good reputation for its live and interactive programs. 

On technology front, AIR has witnessed phenomenal improvement and adopted the state of the art technology. It started it's operation as a medium wave broadcaster, supplemented it with FM. With the progress made in information technology, it recently rolled out it's services through mobile App. AIR Mangalore programs can be listened across the continent, from any country through internet. Practically broadcasting has transcended all geographical borders. In the production side, the studios are digitalised, it's production and transmission are being automated. The reasons for the successful journey spanning more than a decade, can be attributed to the enthusiasm hard work and excellent skills of engineering program and administrative staff of this station. And they draw such motivation and inspiration from such ardent listeners like you. I'm so delighted to speak to our dear listeners today in this happy occasion.
