It would be a surprise that almost in the entire State, it is only in Sivasubramanya Swami Temple in Kumarasamy Pettai in Dharmapuri the Rath Yatra Function that takes place in the Tamizh Month of Thai ie., January, in which a big chariot of about 17 feet height and well decorated is being drawn only by women. It is a rare event in the whole country. Women of Dharmapuri and nearby districts participate in the event with religious fervor. The Rath Yatra of this year took place on the 23rd of this month at 9 am. An Eye Witness account was planned for broadcast in the weekly programme "Dharisanam" on 25th and the function was covered.The Programme was recorded and produced by Shri.R.Murali PEX.
