The throwback photo, emerging from film archives on to Twitter, shows Guru Dutt shaking hands with Radhakrishnan during the premiere of his 1959 film, Kagaz Ke Phool, in Regal Cinemas, Delhi.
Apart from directing the film, Guru Dutt also essayed the lead role in Kagaz Ke Phool, opposite Waheeda Rehman. Interestingly, Kagaz Ke Phool turned out to be his last directorial venture, as it was a big disappointment at the box office at the time. However, years later, the film has received a cult status around the world.
Apart from Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman, Kagaz Ke Phool also starred Johnny Walker in a key role.
