Ram Niwas, PEX (in-situ) Sports Cell, Directorate General, All India Radio, New Delhi had expired on 21.12.2015, three years back leaving behind his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchild. He was born on 04.06.1959 in village Pandwalan Khurd near Najafgarh, Delhi. He served in the Indian Air Force before joining All India Radio. Ram Niwas joined AIR, Rewa on 11.1.1996 as a Transmission Executive. He was posted to AIR, Churu in the same year and was later transferred to AIR, Rohtak in 1999 in the same capacity. He joined Sports Cell, DG: AIR in 2003 where he shouldered the responsibility of planning various National and International events like the Commonwealth Games and National Games including the coverage of the National Games held in Kerala in 2015. He was recently promoted as Programme Executive (in-situ).
His pleasing personality and helpful nature made him popular among colleagues and many admired his practical wisdom and spiritually-inclined approach to life.
